Think of your mind as a machine that is made up of a vast room and a guard standing in front of the only doorway in or out
of that room. Of course the complexities of what we understand to be the most powerful computing device sitting about a
half inch behind our skulls is far too vast and complex to seriously reduce down to just saying that it is made up of a really
big room with a guard standing in front it - but I am simply trying to paint a picture that is easy to grasp.
By getting this picture within our internal field of view we can get a surprisingly accurate understanding of
how information gets into our heads in the first place.
Now imagine yourself as the guard standing in front of the entrance way
to that vast room I was describing before. In order to get things stored
correctly in the room the information typically has to get tagged by you!
Though, in essence, you are the gate keeper, it's more accurate to think of
yourself as an opinion touting security guard. Not a guard that can actually keep
out information - but one that labels the information coming through.
For instance, if I come up to you and tell you that you are wearing a hot-pink sweater, you will
take that information, the statement I just made about what you are wearing, apply your opinion to it such
as the fact that you are not wearing a hot pink sweater - that you perhaps have never even had one on
before in your life. At this point, you might even toss in a few little emotional tie-ins on how crazy I am for
trying to suggest such an obviously incorrect statement to you in the first place.
The point here is that you are the guard in front of the door that the information has to pass through in order to get into
your memory and, under normal conditions, the information does not get to get in without you passing your opinion or
judgment on it. This happens so fast and so often that it is difficult to imagine a time that it doesn't take place!
When someone shares with you their opinion about what a beautiful day it is, how good a particular type of food is, their
favorite movie or song, or even what they feel about a common friend you have between the two of you, these notions get
stored for later recall but only after you have attached your opinion to the various pieces of information.
Everything that you hear, see or touch. Everything that you taste or smell, as a result of your desire to identify the world
around you, goes through a labeling process that is directly linked with an emotion.
This certainly serves many purposes and is extremely useful for the most part, but, as you can imagine, it has a tendency
to really get in the way when we are trying to put positive statements into our memory to draw upon as part of redefining how
we perceive our lives.
Imagine that I call you up one day and tell you that because of everything that you have done in your past you have
been voted the most flawless person on the planet. Now, unless you have lived a truly enlightened life since birth, or
you have a self-centered ego the size of a small moon, chances are you have probably done a little something here
and there in your past that you are not too proud of and therefore, as you go to store what I just called to tell you into
your memory, along with my statement you also store the fact that...
A) - you simply do not believe what I have said and...
B) - with that you may even include some of the specific reasons why.
Sadly, this process only serves to compound the negative information that is already part of your informational data bank.
When we hear positive information that we do not believe about ourselves, the reasons why we don't believe what we are
hearing continues to re-surface over and over again only to result in exactly the opposite effect that we were hoping to take
place.
Instead of the positive statements that are designed to make us feel good about ourselves having a positive effect on us,
when we exercise the fact that we do not believe them they actually end up doing more harm than good. Certainly not our
goal here, now is it?
But here is the good news : Though our minds are truly wonderful recording devices, they seem to have a semi-limitation
on the level of conscious attention. That is, they seem to only be able to focus on one thing at a time.
ONE Voice! ONE Song! ONE Topic of Conversation!
Now that is not to suggest that we can't follow many levels of activity within any one of these things. Certainly we do.
Following the rhythm of a song while singing the words is akin to staying between the proper lines on the road while driving,
yet being aware of what other vehicles around you are doing.
The semi-limitation on the level of conscious attention that I am talking about takes place on the micro level; very quickly
from one moment to the next. These very small gaps that exist from moment to moment as we jump from one conscious
second of awareness to another offer very brief splices of time where the things that we are not quite listening to, even
things that we are not even aware of that are being said just out of "conscious" ear-shot, can slip in completely by-passing
the “opinion offering guard” in front of the doorway.
The information that makes it past that guard without being noticed is the key to the entire process.
The contents of these CDs and included MP3s have been designed to take advantage of this direct
access, bypassing the conscious mind entirely, allowing the specially structured statements to be
recorded by your subconscious. The result of this process allows the statements to be available for
your inner mind to draw upon throughout the rest of your life!
The information that 'sneaks' in has the unique opportunity to be 'recorded' WITHOUT OPINION!
Once recalled, the un-tainted information is simply subconsciously accepted as fact! This is a
powerful opportunity to truly take an active role in re-programming your mind for the better!
You have heard the old statement that our minds are like a computer : Garbage In - Garbage Out!
Well, now you know why. Just remember that the opposite is also true : Good Stuff In - Good Stuff Out!
Thank you for this opportunity to serve you and I truly wish you all the best along your path to success! Not knowing what
the future might hold, I ask that you keep us in mind as you start to explore the newfound opportunities that life surely has to
offer you. We never want to close ourselves off to the possibilities that new partnerships might bring!
